Terms of service

Terms and Conditions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including the design, supply, and installation of bespoke garden rooms ("Services"). By entering into a contract with us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Company Information

Mount Pleasant Garden Rooms is a family-run business based in the East Midlands, specialising in the design and construction of high-quality, handcrafted garden rooms.

2. Quotations & Pricing

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Prices include VAT (if applicable) and are based on the agreed specifications at the time of quotation.
Any changes to the agreed design or materials may result in additional charges, which will be confirmed in writing before proceeding.

3. Design & Customisation

Each garden room is bespoke and designed based on your specific needs and preferences.
Final designs must be approved in writing before work commences.
We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to the design or materials if necessary due to availability or technical requirements, but will consult with you beforehand where possible.

4. Planning Permission

Most garden rooms fall under permitted development, but it is the client’s responsibility to confirm whether planning permission is required.
We can offer guidance but accept no liability for issues arising from planning regulations or enforcement.

5. Site Preparation

You must ensure the site is clear and accessible for our team.
If unexpected ground conditions or obstructions are encountered, additional costs may apply.

6. Payment Terms

To secure your installation date, a 10% non-refundable deposit of the total contract price is required at the time of booking.
This deposit confirms your order and reserves your installation slot.

A further payment of up to 40% of the total contract price is due one month before the agreed installation start date. This payment allows us to order materials and prepare your build for production.

The remaining 50% balance is payable upon completion of the installation and before handover of the garden room.

We understand that plans can change, and as a small family business, we’ll always do our best to be flexible if you need to move your installation date. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate a new date that works for you.

7. Build Timeline

We will provide an estimated start and completion date. While we aim to meet deadlines, delays may occur due to weather, supplier issues, or unforeseen circumstances.

We will keep you informed of any significant changes to the timeline.

8. Warranty

All garden rooms come with a 10-year structural warranty.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, external forces (e.g., storms), or unauthorised modifications.

9. Cancellations & Refunds

If you cancel your order more than one month before the scheduled installation start date, your 10% deposit will be retained to cover administrative and scheduling costs.

If you cancel within one month of the installation start date, you will be liable for any costs already incurred, including materials ordered or work carried out up to that point.

If you simply need to postpone rather than cancel, please get in touch, we’ll always try to reschedule your installation date to suit you wherever possible.

Custom builds cancelled after production begins may incur further charges to cover costs already incurred.

10. Liability

We carry full public liability insurance.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of earnings, due to delays or defects, except where required by law.

11. Access & Utilities

You must provide safe access to the site and, where necessary, electricity and water for construction purposes.
Any additional work required to connect utilities to the garden room (e.g., electricity, water, internet) must be specified and may be subject to additional charges.

12. Complaints

We aim for complete customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy at any stage, please let us know immediately so we can resolve the issue promptly.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
